The wonderful Estates that we work with

WEINGUT J.J. PRUM, Mosel River, Germany

Rare, small production gem from Bordeaux's Left Bank

CHATEAU ST-ESTEPHE; Bordeaux, France

There are two estates in Bordeaux named after their districts; Chateau Margaux and Chateau Saint Estephe. Created by one of the Arnaud family’s ancestors, this domain originates from 1870. Its’ a small family property which has been developed for several generations by the Arnaud Family.  Chateau Saint-Estèphe belongs to the first estates classified Cru Bourgeois in 1932. The vineyard is composed of 7 plots totaling 17 acres, gathered around the following villages: Leyssac, Marbuzet & Blanquet, on a mostly gravelly and clay soil, and also fine gravelly, sandy and limestone-clayey soils. A great diversity and complement to express Saint Estèphe. Hand harvesting in small baskets, following by two hand sortings. 7 to 11 degrees C pre-cold maceration then an alcoholic fermentation never exceeding 25 degrees C to avoid getting too tight & austere tannins, Saint-Estèphe is a famous left bank northernmost Medoc Appellation, known - as perfectly describe Jeff Leve “The Wine Cellar Insider” - to have “powerful, rich, full bodied, tannic, structured Bordeaux wines meant to age”. They are, but we also wish to have some delivering roundness and opulence, an harmonious terroir and aging potential expression. Since 2017, young Oenologist Cyril, is involved at Chateau Saint-Estèphe, and I felt it right away with my 1st tasting of the 2018 & 2019; harmonious silky, fruity and sappy texture.
